569 students from Aakash+BYJU’s clear Indian Olympiad Qualifier Examination 2022
A total of 207 students from Aakash+BYJU’s selected in IOQB
Hyderabad, May 16, 2022: Yet again inking another stupendous result, Aakash+BYJU’S, the national leader in test preparatory services, has 569 students qualifying the prestigious Indian Olympiad Qualifier Examination in Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Junior Science. The examination is organized by the Association of Teachers in Biological Sciences in association with Indian Association of Physics Teachers and Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE). Each year over 30,000 students of 12th Standard or below, sit for this examination.
A total of 207 students from Aakash+BYJU’s have been selected in IOQB, 64 selected in IOQM, 88 selected in IOQJS. 95 students from Aakash+BYJU’S have got selected in the (IOQC) Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Chemistry and 49 student got selected in (IOQP) Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Physics. 32 Aakashians have also got selected in the IOQA-A (Indian National Olympiad Astronomy) and 34 students have got selected in Indian IOQA-B (Olympiad Qualifier Astronomy). This year a whopping 569 students of Aakash have cleared the various IOQ’s.
IOQ is intended for students of 12th standard, though 11th standard students are also allowed to appear in the examination. There is a designated statewise quota according to which the students are selected for the next stage. Further all students scoring greater than 80% of the average of the top ten scores at national level (called as Merit Index Score) get automatically selected irrespective of the statewise quota. Usually top 1% students from this examination are selected to sit for the different Olympiads under it.

On the basis of performance in IOQ, the top students in the merit list are selected for Stage III Orientation Camp (OC). The student undergoes some theoretical and experimental sessions The selected member Indian team undergoes a rigorous training programme at HBCSE in theory and experiments. Special laboratories have been developed at HBCSE for the purpose of experimental training. Resource persons from HBCSE and different institutions across the country train the students.
The Olympiad programme culminates with the participation of the Indian students (4-6 in each subject) in the International Olympiads.
