56th All India Railway Men’s Basketball Championship begins

Kapurthala/Jalandhar, October 20, 2013: Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala defeated North Eastern Railway, Gorakhpur (65-22) in the first match of 56th All India Railway Men’s Basketball Championship on Saturday.
The event is being hosted by RCF, Kapurthala.
In the second match also, RCF, Kapurthala defeated Chitranjan Locomotive Works, Chitranran (66-20). It may be mentioned here that a total 20 teams and about 250 players are participating in the championship.
Quarter finals will take place on October 21, semi-finals on October 22 and finals on October 23.
In other matches played today, Western Railway, Mumbai defeated Chitranjan Locomotive Works, Chitranran (68-51), Western Railway defeated Central Railway, Mumbai (87-50), DMW, Patiala defeated Metro Railway, Kolkata (59-50) and DMW defeated Southern Railway, Chennai (78-65).
Similarly, South Central Railway, Secunderabad, in its first match, defeated Northern Railway, New Delhi (70-48) and in the second match, defeated Western Railway, Jabalpur (81-80).
