57992 students benefitted from 26 scholarship schemes
Says Sarveen at function of school in Dharkhandi region
Dharamshala: Urban Development, Housing and Town Planning Minister Sarveen Chaudhary today said that 57992 students had benefited from 26 central and state sponsored scholarship schemes to encourage meritorious and needy students and 18.20 crores were spent in it. Minister was speaking at a function of the Government Senior Secondary School Kanol in the Dharkhandi region. She added, “ICT labs have been started in 2137 schools through smart classrooms.”
She said that students should participate in various social activities along with studies and called upon children to abstain from drunken immorality. She called upon the teachers to make the children work harder so that the examination results of the schools become excellent.
She suggested the principals and Head Masters of the schools to ensure that the souvenirs given to the children in shape of prizes should not be made of not plastic. Minister announced 15 thousand rupees from her discretionary fund to promote the cultural activities in GSSS Karol. Minister of Urban Development also awarded the outstanding students.
School Principal Kusum Sharma read the annual report of the school and gave information about various activities going on in the school.
During this time children presented cultural programs.
Principal of Boh, Jodha Ram, Ravinder Kumar of Darini, Ravi Rana of Bhalad, children's parents and members of the School Management Committee were present on the occasion.
U D Minister also listened the problems of the people and disposed off most of them on the spot.
