6 students of Centre for Medical Physics, PU come out with flying colors

Chandigarh, April 11, 2017: Six students (Bhagat Chand, Priyamvda, Shefali Pahwa, Arashdeep, Shaheen Parveen and Rama Devi) of Centre for Medical Physics, Panjab University(PU), Chandigarh have came out with flying colors in passing the Radiation Safety Officer-III examination conducted by Radiological Physics & Advisory Division, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai in year 2017. When it comes to talent, one often need not look beyond PU. All India pass percentage of the RSO-III examination is only 14 % and the Centre for Medical Physics, PU have more than 84% M.Sc. students till date who qualified RSO-III examination in India. Medical physicists contribute to the effectiveness of radiological imaging procedures by assuring that best radiation safety practices are followed. They collaborate with radiation oncologists to design and execute cancer patient specific treatment plans.
