60 students get equipped with digital certification of various skill enhancement courses from NSDC and NPTEL

Chandigarh, April 23, 2024: In a bid to bolster students' employability and equip them with in-demand skills, the Institution's Entrepreneurship and Placement (IEP) Cell has taken proactive steps to encourage students to enroll in free online courses offered by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning).

This initiative has seen remarkable success, with 60 final year students successfully completed these courses during session 23-24 as part of practical in the subject of Economics and Entrepreneurship Development.

These courses are aligned with the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) and is recognized by employers across the country. The students undergo these on line skilling courses through various video assignments and online lectures on diverse skill sets like Cybersecurity, Entrepreneurship Skills, Digital productivity, Emotional intelligence, Preparing for Apprenticeships and Jobs, Effective Communication, Soft skills Development, Digital Productivity and Global Nutrition and health. The duration varies from minimum 1 hour to 8 weeks in each course. All certifications are offered by NSDC in collaboration with organisations like Tech Mahindra, Infosys ,NIIT foundation, Udemy and various IITs.

Principal Prof Sudha Katyal said that the college continues to prioritize holistic student development through these initiatives. These courses serve as catalysts for empowering students with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in an increasingly dynamic and demanding world. The certification of these courses is recognized by industry leaders and institutions This validation not only adds weight to a student's resume but also serves as a testament to their commitment to continuous learning and professional development
