617 Himachalis welcomed at Una railway station
Train to Howrah cancelled
Dharamshala: As many as 617 Himachalis, who returned from Pune through a special train, arrived at Una railway station at 5am (on Tuesday), were applauded by the District Administration. Two exits were planned to take them out of the Station.
Passengers of Kangra district were the first to come out of the Station after they were sanitized and were taken to the helpdesk and thermally screened by the doctors and enquired about flu like symptoms. All were given food packets along with water bottles. Food arrangements were made by Radha Swami Satsang Bhadsaali. Over 1,000 food packets were distributed.
They were then taken to their native places through HRTC buses. All followed social distancing and other norms strictly.
Deputy Commissioner Una, Sandeep Kumar told that out of 617 passengers, 215 were from Kangra, 68 of Hmairpur, 63 Mandi, 16 Bilaspur, 37 Kullu, 41 Solan, 9 Sirmaur, 28 Chamba, 2 Kinnaur, 63 Shimla and 70 from Una districts. One person each is from Punjab and Uttarakhand.
Train cancelled due to cyclone: DC
Another special train from Amb to Howarh, intended to take West Bengal passengers, has been cancelled due to cyclone for the time being. The train was scheduled to leave from Amb on May 20. Soon, the new date will be announced. As many as 1,400 people registered themselves for the train.
