DEO (Secondary), Ludhiana Mrs Paramjit Kaur Chahal on Monday addressing a press conference at Ludhiana.
Ludhiana, November 30, 2015: The Education Department Punjab would be organising 61st Punjab State Inter-District School Athletics Meet at Guru Nanak Stadium, here, from December 3-8, 2015. More than 3000 athletes from 22 districts and 12 sports wings of the state would participate in this mega sports event.
While addressing a press conference here today, DEO (Secondary) Mrs Paramjit Kaur Chahal informed that during this six-day sports event, 96 events would be organised for Under-14, Under 17 and Under-19 in boys and girls categories.
She informed that during the opening ceremony on December 3, Health and Family Welfare Minister Mr Surjit K Jyani would be the chief guest, Education Minister Dr Daljit Singh Cheema would preside over the function and Chief Parliamentary Secretary Mr Inderbir Singh Bolaria would be the guest of honour.
The DEO informed that the participants would be staying in 20 different schools in the city and special arrangements have been made for the stay of boys and girls teams. She informed that no male teacher would be attached with the girl teams.
Mr Ajitpal Singh, AEO (Sports) informed that the girl participants would be staying at Government Girls Senior Secondary School Jawahar Nagar, Government Girls Senior Secondary School Bharat Nagar, Khalsa Girls Senior Secondary School Civil Lines, Ramgarhia Girls Senior Secondary School Miller Ganj, Pothohar Sayyed National Senior Secondary School near CMCH, Government Girls High School Lakkar Bazaar, Government Senior Secondary School PAU, Sargodha Girls High School and Gujjarkhan Girls Senior Secondary School Model Town.
Similarly, the boys teams would stay at Government Senior Secondary School Multipurpose, Government Senior Secondary School (Boys) Jawahar Nagar, Government Model Senior Secondary School Cemetery Road, Government Model Senior Secondary School Model Town, Gujjarkhan Senior Secondary School (Boys) Model Town, Government Senior Secondary School Haibowal Khurd, Government Senior Secondary School Gobind Nagar, Government High School Sarabha Nagar, Sargodha Co-Educational High School, Ramgarhia Senior Secondary School Miller Ganj and Government Middle School No 5 College Road, informed Ajitpal Singh.
