Kapurthala , April 20, 2016: Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala celebrated the 61st Railway Week Award function-2016 with zeal and fervour here at RCF. Shri R.P.Nibariya, General Manager / RCF was the Chief Guest and gave away momentos, merit certificates and cash awards to 129 officers and employees for their outstanding performance during the year 2015-16. He also presented Running Safety Shield to Paint Shop selected for maintaining high standard of safety.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Nibariya said that Railway Week is celebrated every year to encourage and felicitate employees for their outstanding performance during the year. He congratulated the award winners for putting in their best performance and hoped that they would rededicate themselves to produce better results in the future. It was due to the untiring efforts and dedication of the RCF employees that today Indian Railways has made remarkable progress in achieving important goals and targets. RCF has performed excellently well in all departments and the coach production stood at 1603 coaches during 2015-16 besides turning out 13 coach shells for Modern Coach Factory, Rae Bareli. Shri. Nibariya enumerated the achievements of RCF and said that the manufacturing of coaches to run at a speed of 200-km per hour is underway . This initiative is as per the proposal which was announced by Hon’ble Minister of Railways, Sh. Suresh Prabhu in 2015-16’s Rail Budget. Also, two rakes for Bangladesh Railways were turned out during 2015-16 and remaining coaches of 120 coach export order will be dispatched soon in near future.
Sh R P Nibariya said that RCF is geared up to manufacture 1700 coaches during 2016-17. He asked for dedicated and tireless efforts of RCF employees to work for manufacturing of coaches for increasing the satisfaction quotient of the passengers. Railway Board has asked for giving passengers better services and making railway journeys enjoyable and hence proposed new initiatives in introduction of New Genre train services. RCF is all set to roll out coaches for TEJAS, which will showcase the future of train travel in India and operate at high speed . Besides, RCF will manufacture 05 rakes for fully air-conditioned HUMSAFAR trains, 03 rakes each for ANTODAYA (a long-distance, fully unreserved, superfast train service with coaches havinf vestibules in the ends) and UDAY ( Uttkrisht Double-Decker Air-Conditioned Yatri ) overnight trains and Coaches for DEEN DAYALU trains announced in Railway Budget 2016-17.
