68th National School Games from December 11 to 17 in Ludhiana
Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal has directed officials from various departments to ensure comprehensive arrangements for the 68th National School Games, scheduled to take place in Ludhiana from December 11 to 17.
Ludhiana, December 3, 2024: Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal has directed officials from various departments to ensure comprehensive arrangements for the 68th National School Games, scheduled to take place in Ludhiana from December 11 to 17.
During a meeting held at the district administrative complex, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of making adequate provisions for accommodation, food, security, medical services, and transportation for the participants to prevent any inconvenience.
Jorwal highlighted that over 3,500 players from all states, Union Territories, and other organizations, including Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas, and Vidya Bharti Schools, will compete in four sports: Netball (under-17 boys and girls), Handball (under-19 boys and girls), Judo (under-19 boys and girls), and Karate (under-14 boys and girls). The matches will be held at various locations, including the Government Senior Secondary Smart School (PAU), the Multipurpose Hall at Guru Nanak Stadium, and BVM School. He also instructed officials to install CCTV cameras at these venues, along with deploying Police Control Room (PCR) teams for security.
School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains will inaugurate these games on December 11 at Guru Nanak Stadium.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed that all arrangements must be meticulously planned and executed for the success of this event. He noted that the games represent a significant opportunity for emerging athletes to showcase their skills.
To ensure a smooth operation, Jorwal urged the education and sports departments to collaborate effectively and requested that their senior officials personally oversee the logistics concerning accommodation and travel for the players.
ADC (G) Amarjit Bains, DEO Dimple Tandon, DSO Kuldeep Chugh and others were also present in the meeting.
