68th National School Games kicks off with great pomp and show in Ludhiana
The 68th National School Games commenced today with great enthusiasm, inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal at Guru Nanak Stadium.

Ludhiana, December 11, 2024: The 68th National School Games commenced today with great enthusiasm, inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal at Guru Nanak Stadium.
The event will run until December 17, with matches taking place at various venues, including the Government Senior Secondary Smart School (PAU), the Multipurpose Hall at Guru Nanak Stadium, and BVM School.
In his opening address, Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal emphasized that over 3,000 athletes from all states, Union Territories, and various organizations—including Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas, and Vidya Bharti Schools—will compete in four sports: Netball (for under-17 boys and girls), Handball (for under-19 boys and girls), Judo (for under-19 boys and girls), and Karate (for under-14 boys and girls).
Jorwal encouraged the people for prioritizing sports and fitness-related activities, stating that they contribute to a healthier society. He wished all the players the best, noting that success in sports not only honours oneself but also brings pride to coaches, parents, and the entire state. He highlighted that the games offer a significant opportunity for emerging athletes to showcase their skills.
The Deputy Commissioner assured that the administration has made adequate arrangements for the participants, including accommodation, food, security, medical services, and transportation, to ensure a smooth experience during the games.
Prominent amongst present on the occasion included CM field officer Kritika Goyal, Director Public Instructions (Secondary Education) Paramjit Singh, Deputy Director Sunil Kumar, DEO Dimple Madaan and others.
