The First match of the 6th Wg Cdr S S Gyani Memorial Cricket Tournament 2015, was held at St. Soldier’s School, Panchkula. The same was played between Pinegrove School, (HP) and Little Flower Convent School, Sector-14 Panchkula. Pinegrove School emerged victorious in the outing.

Panchkula, October 1, 2015: The grand opening ceremony of 6th Wg Cdr S S Gyani Memorial Cricket Tournament 2015, was held at St. Soldier’s School, Panchkula. Balloons were released to mark the opening of the Tournament. The tournament was declared open by Capt. A J Singh, Managing Director, St. Soldier’s, Panchkula who is a great visionary and accomplished educationist of the region.
 
The first match was played between Pinegrove School, (HP) and Little Flower Convent School, Sector-14 Panchkula. Toss was won by Pinegrove School and they elected to bowl. Little Flower School made 194 runs at the loss of 7 wickets and in response the Pinegrove School scored 196 runs at the loss of 2 wickets in just 18.2 overs. The match was won by Pinegrove School by 8 wickets. Anmol from Pinegrove School who scored an unbeaten 80 was declared ‘Man of the Match’.
 
The schools that are participating in the tournament are hosts St Soldiers’ School, Panchkula, Pinegrove School, Dharampur, HP, Saupins School, Chandigarh, YPS, Mohali, Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula, The Gurukul, Panchkula, CLDAV, Panchkula and Little Flower Convent, Panchkula. The tournament is being played out on knock out basis and the final will be held on October 8, 2015. Each match will be of 25 overs each side.
