Panchkula, September 30, 2015: Eight teams of Tri-City schools will be participating in the 6th Wg Cdr S S Gyani Memorial Cricket Tournament 2015 for boys, beginning on 1st October 2015. The occasion will be marked with an opening ceremony and the inaugural match will be played out between Pinegrove School, Dharampur and Little Flower Convent School, Sec-14, Panchkula.
“The tournament is hosted by St. Soldiers’ School, Sector-16, Panchkula every year in the memory of its Founder Wg Cdr S S Gyani who was a great visionary, educationist and cricket lover.” Said Ms. Renu Diwan, Principal, St Soldier’s Public School.
The schools that are participating in the tournament are St Soldiers’ School, Panchkula which is the host, Pinegrove School, Dharampur, HP, Saupins School, Chandigarh, YPS, Mohali, Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula, The Gurukul, Panchkula, CLDAV, Panchkula and Little Flower Convent, Panchkula. The tournament will be played out on knock out basis and the final will be played on October 8, 2015. Each match will be of 25 overs each side. The tournament is an important Inter School calendar event of tricity and will see display of great cricketing skills by young Cricketers, on St Soldiers’ School, Panchkula’s lush green ground.
