7-Day short term FDP on writing and assessment under RUSA
Objective of course was to provide hands-on training
Chandigarh: The programme was held at the English language lab at Panjab University, Chandigarh. It was a 7 day event from February 4 to 10. Each day’s events was divided into 3 sessions focusing on different topics. It was organised by the UGC-Human Resource Development Centre, Panjab University. The objective of this course was to provide hands-on training in optimising the use of writing in classrooms. Prof. Deepti Gupta gave the inaugural address and welcomed all the participants. There were a total of 18 participants, five from commerce, 5 from English, and the rest from sciences and social sciences. The first three days of the programme focused on writing as a process and a product, research writing and assessment, and academic writing. The fourth day focused on the challenges of teaching writing, and strategies to teach how to write. And the last two days dealt with the assessment, evaluation and feedback, review writing, and case studies, paper assessment and evaluation, and office work, respectively. Dr. Sharda Kaushik (PEC) was the resource person on the second day, whereas the inaugural day was taken up by Dr. Meenu Gupta and Prof. Pushpinder Sayal.
Each day’s event was brought to a close after an interactive session.
