7-Day workshop titled ‘Vaidik Agnihotra : Vidhi Tatha Mahattva’ 

Chandigarh, August 24, 2023: Department of Sanskrit, Panjab University, Chandigarh began a seven-day workshop titled ‘Vaidik Agnihotra : Vidhi Tatha Mahattva’ today. In the workshop, participants will be taught about the philosophy, concept and performance of Agnihotra, as stated in the Vedic literature.  Faculty members, office staff, research scholars and students of the department participated on the first day of the workshop.  Faculty member Shri Vijay Bharadwaj led the workshop and the ritual instruction. Participants were instructed about the parts and processes of the Agnihotra ritual.  A demonstration of Agnihotra was done.  This workshop was conceived by Prof. V. K. Alankar, academic incharge of the Sanskrit department, with motive of making the participants aware of the concept and practical application of Agnihotra.
