72nd Republic Day celebrated by Customs Commissionerate
The celebrations started with unfurling of the National Flag by A.S. Ranga, Commissioner of Customs
Ludhiana: The 72nd Republic Day was celebrated on 26th of January, 2021 by the Customs Commissionerate, Ludhiana in the premises of Hqrs. Office, ICD GRFL, Sahnewal, Ludhiana. The celebrations started with unfurling of the National Flag by A.S. Ranga, Commissioner of Customs, Ludhiana and National Anthem thereafter.
Customs Commissionerate Ludhiana also dedicated the past week to celebrate International Customs Day (ICD) 2021. This year the International Customs Day is dedicated to the united efforts of Customs to emerge from the COVID19 crisis and support people and businesses by strengthening the global supply chain, harnessing technology, with the slogan “Customs bolstering Recovery, Renewal and Resilience for a sustainable supply chain”. To mark this auspicious day various games like Table Tennis, Sack Race, Volley Ball, Tug-of-War, etc. were organised. Also it was a proud moment for Customs Ludhiana that one of the officer namely Rajesh Kaushal, Superintendent have been awarded the “World Customs Organization (WCO) Certificate of Merit” by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs, New Delhi.
To celebrate Republic Day and ICD 2021 a cultural programme was also held with participation of students of Ishmeet Music Academy, Ludhiana. The students of Ishmeet Academy performed on patriotic and motivational songs. The staff of Customs Ludhiana, Port Custodians, members of Customs Brokers’ Association, representatives from CICU & FIEO and trade & industry attended the occasion.
Awards of various games and commendation certificates were bestowed upon meritorious officers of Customs and representatives of trade organisations. A.S. Ranga, Commissioner addressed the gathering and congratulated all on the occasion of 72nd Republic Day.
