On the second day of the 73rd Junior Punjab Basketball Championship, various teams competed at the basketball court, Guru Nanak Stadium, Ludhiana. This championship will be played till January 2, 2023.

Ludhiana, January 1, 2022: On the second day of the 73rd Junior Punjab Basketball Championship, various teams competed at the basketball court, Guru Nanak Stadium, Ludhiana. This championship will be played till January 2, 2023.

Punjab Basketball Association General Secretary Teja Singh Dhaliwal said that after playing the qualifying round, 20 teams from 5 zones and 2 teams from Ludhiana Basketball Academy are participating in the championship.  Ludhiana Basketball Academy is the current champion in the boys and girls’ category. Some international players are also participating in the championship.  On the last day, Mr Rajdeep Singh Gill former DGP and president of Punjab Basketball Association will distribute the prizes.

Giving the details of the competitions held on the second day today, he said that in the boys' category, district Ludhiana defeated Jalandhar with 45-9 points, Hoshiarpur defeated Fatehgarh Sahib with 66-60 points, Patiala defeated Moga with 40-14 points, district Ludhiana defeated Patiala with a margin of 70-48 points.  In the girl's category, Patiala beat Kapurthala by 33-7 points, Hoshiarpur beat Khanna by 34-14 points, District Ludhiana beat Sri Amritsar Sahib by 44-22 points, Ludhiana Academy beat Hoshiarpur by 25-3 points and Patiala defeated Sri Amritsar Sahib by 42-6 points.

Today on this occasion DCP Soumya Mishra, ADCP Parminder Singh Heer, Gurjit Singh Romana Retd PPS, JP Singh Retd PCS, Vinod Chopra, Senior Coach Rajinder Singh, Coach Saloni, Coach Narinderpal Sharma, Ravinder Singh and others were present.
