Kapurthala, January 27, 2022: The 73rd Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in the Administrative Building of Rail Coach Factory. On this occasion, Shri Ashesh Agrawal, General Manager, RCF unfurled the Tricolor and inspected the platoons of Railway Protection Force and St. John Ambulance Brigade.
On the occasion, Shri Agrawal said that this event had grown more significant this year as the country is also celebrating the 75th anniversary of its independence which has been named 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' and we are all proud to be a part of this 75th anniversary.
He elaborated on the recent achievements of RCF and expressed immense happiness that RCF has registered a record highest ever monthly production of 189 coaches in December 2021. He commended the employees of RCF for manufacturing its 40000th coach last month , besides rolling out first ever 3 Phase MEMU coaches with passenger friendly amenities in November 2021. Shri Agrawal said that so far RCF has manufactured more than 1450 LHB coaches this financial year whereas in the last financial year it had manufactured total 1500 coaches thus moving towards highest ever record production of RCF in the current fiscal.
The General Manager said that it is a matter of great happiness that RCF has received Silver Category Certification of International Railway Industry Standard (IRIS) this month and has joined a select group of only 118 companies around the world which have Silver certification . It has also become the the first and only Rolling Stock Designing and Manufacturing Unit to have Silver Level IRIS Performance Certificate in India. Apart from this, Rail Coach Factory has been awarded the Best Production Unit Shield of Indian Railways for its excellent performance during the year 2020-21 receiving this prestigious honour for only the second time after 2013. He also applauded the distinguished works done by RCF WWO and various departments during the year.
Smt. Surabhi Agrawal, President RCF Women Welfare Organization, all Principal HODs and HODs , office bearers of RCF Women Welfare Organization and various unions and associations were present at the function.
The General Manager presented Railway Week - 2021 Award to 03 RCF employees in the ceremony.
The administrative building , lake complex all squares, buildings of major institutions and the entrance gates of RCF were decorated with illuminated lights which bore a festive look in the evening .
