74th Independence Day- DC reviews arrangements after full dress rehearsal
Says, this year I-Day function to be organized adhering to covid-19 safety precautions
Ferozepur: Amidst Covid-19 restrictions this year, the 74th Independence Day function will be organized adhering to COVID-19 safety protocol i.e. social distancing, masking and hand sanitizing ect., said the Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur Gurpal Singh Chahal while inspecting the full dress rehearsal at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Stadium, Ferozepur on Thursday.
The Deputy Commissioner accompanied by SSP Ferozepur Bhupinder Singh said that the preparations for this mega event were going on in full swing and efforts are being made to make sure that Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic and nationalistic fervor with strict obeying of all preventive measures given novel coronavirus pandemic.
Mr. Singh said Independence Day celebrations were the most important event for all of us as on this day our country attained freedom from the yoke of British imperialism on this day.
He said that due to the prevailing situation arising out of the Covid-19 pandemic, the children and elders were not invited, and no cultural activities would be held in the function. The function would be a low key affair, hence would be limited to the unfurling of the national flag, salute by police contingent, a speech of the chief guest, and culminated with the National Anthem.
Prominent amongst present on the occasion included SDM Amit Gupta, DSP KaranSher Singh, District Sports Officer Sunil Sharma, and others.
