74th Independence Day organized in Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala

Kapurthala: The 74th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the administrative office block of Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala. On this occasion, Shri Ravindra Gupta, RCF General Manager hoisted the national flag amid the contingents of Railway Protection Force, St. John's Ambulance Brigade and teams of scouts and guides in the parade. The ceremony was brief in the wake of Covid, wherein special prizes were given to RCF’s Covid Warriors.
Shri Ravindra Gupta, General Manager of RCF, while highlighting the achievements of RCF said that the RCF faced Covid's widespread with full commitment and fearlessness. During the nationwide lockdown, where all the industrial units in the country were shut down , which were also having an impact on the country's economy, RCF became the first production unit in the entire country on April 23 to start the production following all the safety regulations. Along with the production of train coaches, RCF also started the manufacturing of face masks, hand sanitizers, PPE kits, foot operated dispensers, sanitation tunnels for vehicles entering the premises, Jeevan - the Ventilator etc. To ensure safe travel from Corona , RCF manufactured "Post Covid Coaches" so that the rail passengers could travel fearlessly. In July, RCF produced 151 LHB coaches, the best production by any railway unit. Shri Ravinder Gupta said that now RCF has achieved the rate of making more than seven LHB coaches in a day, which is a matter of pride for all. RCF made passenger coaches are known all over the world for their quality, as a result, in January 2020, RCF Kapurthala received the "IRIS 3.01 Bronze Category Certification" which is the prestigious IRIS certificate in the world. RCF is the first and only production unit of Indian Railways to achieve this.
In his address, Mr. Gupta praised the Corona warriors and said that today, where the whole world is facing an epidemic corona, the RCF family has fought the corona with full strength and solidarity. The contribution of Corona warriors in this fight is commendable. During the lockdown, the protection of RCF residents from Corona and continuous supply of all basic facilities like ration, milk, fruits-vegetables, LPG etc. was also possible due to Corona warriors. In the hour of trouble, the support of various departments of RCF, Bharat Scout and Guides, St. John Ambulance Brigade, Women's Welfare Organization RCF, religious institutions of RCF viz. Gurudwara Guru Singh Sabha and Sanatan Dharam Sabha etc. were appreciable.
Later, Members of the RCF Women's Welfare Organization visited Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital with their President , Smt Neeta Gupta and presented refrigerator and food warmer oven to the hospital.
To make the environment green, the General Manager Mr. Ravindradha Gupta and all the officers and members of the Women's Welfare Organization initiated a big plantation campaign by planting saplings at Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital. On this occasion, employees living in RCF Colony planted 4000 saplings in their homes.
The Waste Compositing Plant at RCF dump yard was also inaugurated today to make the RCF complex free of waste and garbage. The Plant will produce 10 ton green manure daily out of kitchen and other waste brought daily from RCF Colony. With the start of this plant, whereas the problem of garbage will be solved, the cleanliness in the RCF complex will also increase.
On the occasion of Independence Day , RCF's administrative office, lake complex, various Chownks, Colony gates were decorated with colorful lights which gave an enchanting view of the night.
Apart from this through laser lighting, the establishment of the Rail Coach Factory, significant achievements of RCF and contribution of Corona warriors to fight out Kovid19 was shown in a very attractive way. /(Rajat Kumar,Jalandhar)
