75 Years of Independence celebrated at DAVIET

Jalandhar, August 16, 2022: 75 Years of India's freedom were celebrated with great enthusiasm and zeal here on DAVIET Campus by faculty and students. The celebration aimed to instill a feeling of nationalism in the stakeholders so that they can value the cultural history and legacy of the nation. 

Balkar Singh, MLA Kartapur, Geetanjali, an environmentalist, Bali, Secretary Hariballabh Sangeet Sammalen Committee, Dr Manoj Kumar, and Heads of the various Departments of the institution unfurled the National Flag and paid tribute to the tricolor and all the freedom fighters. 

Balkar Singh in his address highlighted the fact that revolutionaries and freedom fighters of the nation made a lot of sacrifices to get freedom. He paid his tribute to their sacrifices. He also stated that it is the youth and the common people in whose hearts real India resides. He shared that  27000 government jobs have been advertised and the educated youth of the state should apply for the post. He stated that on Independence Day the Punjab Government is going to launch Mohalla Clinics to provide free medical care for citizens. He also shared that the government is committed to providing good education, health, and security to everyone.

Dr Sanjeev Naval, Dean Students Affairs, DAVIET congratulated everyone on Independence Day. He shared that the institution is committed to doing its bit to conserve the environment and has started the process of creating a mini forest on the campus 


Gretanjali Mehra an ardent environmentalist stated that we all should be conscious of the responsibility towards nature and the environment. She educated everyone that our environment is made up of five basic elements viz air, water, fire, earth, and space. We need to maintain equilibrium in all five elements. She shared that if we destroy nature and the environment we cannot live happily and contently in the long run. She urged everyone to plant at least one tree on every Independence Day to make India a healthy and safe place.

Bali, Secretary Hariballabh Sangeet Sammalen Committee highlighted that Independence Day is one festival of India which is celebrated by people irrespective of caste, culture, creed, or religion. He highlighted that if we can empower the youth of the nation then the nation’s future is secure. He gave the message that we are first Indians and then have caste, religious or territorial affiliations. 

Dr Manoj Kumar motivated the students to give their best in whatever they do to make India a strong nation. He shared with all the present that DAVIET is committed to providing quality technical education in consonance with rich cultural heritage instilling pride in the nation and national heritage. 

The students of the institution recited nationalistic poems and presented Bhangra to celebrate Independence Day.
