80 yr patient gets back mobility after successful total knee replacement

Nawanshahr, September 11, 2023: An 80-year-old male patient suffering from severe arthritis and fixed flexion deformity in both knee joints has regained his mobility and quality of life through a bilateral total knee replacement (TKR) at Ivy Hospital, Nawanshahr recently.

The surgery was performed in a single sitting and the patient is now able to walk and stand without any difficulty and completely free from pain and deformity, said Dr. Amtoj Singh Khara, orthopedic and joint replacement specialist at Ivy Hospital who performed the surgery.

He further said that the patient's condition was indeed challenging due to his advanced age. TKR not only eliminated the severe pain that had previously incapacitated the patient but also restored his knee joint function to near-normal levels, he maintained.
