8305 Samples for Covid-19 taken in Ludhiana district
Recovery rate of COVID-19 patients reaches at 81.34%
Ludhiana: Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma today informed that under the “Mission Fateh” of the Punjab government, the number of COVID-19 patients getting cured in district Ludhiana is increasing with each passing day.
He said that sincere efforts are being made to keep people safe from Covid-19. He said that a total of 1595 patients (1470 new patients from district Ludhiana and 125 from other states/districts) have tested positive in the last 24 hours.
He further said that till date, a total of 1079669 samples have been taken, out of which a report of 1079259 samples have been received, of which 1001640 samples were found negative while reports of 410 samples were pending. He said that now, the total number of patients related to Ludhiana is 68465, while 9154 patients belong to other districts/states.
He said that unfortunately, 46 patients lost their lives today (30 from district Ludhiana, 4 from Fatehgarh Sahib, 2 from Sangrur while one each from districts Mansa, Moga, Barnala, UT Chandigarh, state Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and 3 from state Delhi). Now, the total number of persons who lost their lives including 1580 people from Ludhiana and 802 from other districts.
He said that whenever the District Administration and Health Department Ludhiana finds out about any positive or suspected COVID 19 person, their samples are immediately sent for testing. Similarly, 8305 samples of suspected patients were sent for testing today and their results are expected shortly.
Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma appealed to the residents to adhere all the safety protocols like wearing masks, maintaining social distance and washing hands frequently of the Punjab government to not only save themselves but keeping everyone around safe.
