A bridge at RD 55725 on Sidhwan Canal the bridge will be repaired as soon as possible

Ludhiana, January 16, 2025: There is a bridge at RD 55725 on Sidhwan Canal which passes through Ludhiana City known as Isher Nagar Bridge. It is brought to the attention of the office concerned by some citizens of city that steel in lower part of the bridge bare and this bridge should be reviewed. Taking immediate action on this, Executive Engineer, Ludhiana Canal and Ground Water Division, WRD, Ludhiana have visited the site with field staff.
It is observed that bridge was constructed nearly 17-18 years ago, concrete from the upstream section of the pier has washed off due to the flow of water leaving behind bare steel reinforcement.
A file has already been sent to the Central Design office of Water Resources Department, Chandigarh for the advice regarding its repair and as per the recommendation of the above said office, the bridge will be repaired as soon as possible.
