A National Summit on Environment to be held in Guwahati

Guwahati, August 22, 2022: A National Summit on Environment is scheduled to be held at Hotel Taj Vivanta, Guwahati on August 23rd and 24th for two days.
 
The 22nd Annual Greentech Environment Summit-2022 is the most sought-after annual event organised by the New Delhi-based Greentech Foundation. Greentech Foundation is probably the only NGO in entire India which has been spearheading the crusade on safer environments for the past 22 years and is today the name to reckon foundation in India. It is a matter of great pride for eastern India as this prestigious conference is being held in the Eastern Region of India. 
 
Some of the guests who will grace and address the delegates include Rajan Gogoi, Former Chief Justice of India, Member of Rajya Sabha, Govt of India; Bimal Bora, Minister of Industries & Commerce and Public Enterprises, Govt of Assam; Nandita Gorlosa, Minister of Power, Cooperation, Mines & Minerals, Govt of Assam; Jogen Mohan, Minister of Revenue & Disaster Management, Govt of Assam; Chandra Mohan Patowary, Minister of Environment & Forest, Govt of Assam and others. 
 
The Forest Man of India, Padma Shri Jadav Payeng, the environmental activist will be a star attraction and will address the delegates and will share his crusade. His presence at the summit will be an inspiration to delegates as an environmental activist he will share his forest work in Majuli, Assam. As we all know for decades, he has dedicated himself to planting trees and tending forests on a sandbar near the riverside of Brahmaputra.
 
Some of the topics to be deliberated during the two-day summit include Renewable Energy Initiatives and Achievements; Recycling and Waste Management and Environment Protection and Innovative Practices.  
 
The summit will also focus on a few emerging global trends in sustainability such as 
 
Sustainability becoming the “new normal”, Transition to a circular economy, ESG(Environmental, Social Governance) investments took centre stage, Climate positivity, Clean Air Initiatives, Affordable Renewable energy; regenerative agriculture, Electrical Vehicle and sustainable mobility, Bio-Economy, transparency on climate risks by corporates etc and other. 
 
Electric cars will become a mainstream purchase now. Reconnecting with nature will increase and drive a new passion for the environment. These and many issues will come up for discussion during the summit
 
Environmental excellence awards will be presented to individuals and organisations for their distinguished services, excellence and impact on society at large.  
 
Two hundred fifty delegates of Environment, Sustainability, Professionals, Regulatory Authorities, Specialists, Practitioners, Consultants, Green Crusaders and others are expected to arrive in Guwahati from different parts of India to participate in the summit.
