A special lecture on "Entrepreneurship and Startup Building" held at Central University of Punjab
On the occasion of Parakram Diwas 2023, the Central University of Punjab, under the patronage of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, organized a special lecture on the theme "Entrepreneurship and Startup Building."
Bathinda: On the occasion of Parakram Diwas 2023, the Central University of Punjab, under the patronage of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, organized a special lecture on the theme "Entrepreneurship and Startup Building." The Institution's Innovation Council at the university conducted this programme in collaboration with the Department of Sociology. The invited speaker for this programme was Prithvijit Roy, Founder and CEO of BRIDGEi2i Analytics Solutions, and Managing Director of Accenture Strategy and Consulting.
At the outset, Dr. Sumedha Dutta welcomed the participants and introduced the programme theme. Thereafter, Ms. Pallavi Mishra introduced the invited speaker.
While addressing the participants, Prithvijit Roy shared that in the initial years he worked with top brands including GE, HP, etc, where he learned the basics of artificial intelligence and data science and developed expertise in these disciplines. He shared his experience of starting his own start-up company in 2011, which over a period of 10 years turned into a rapidly growing firm, based in India and the US, partnering with enterprises across the globe to deliver sustainable business impact based on actionable insights derived. Later, they got an opportunity to collaborate with Accenture, a global tech giant.
Prithvijit Roy highlighted that it was not easy to leave a well-paid job and start from scratch to establish his own business. He advised youngsters to always be focused on their goals and ready to face the challenges in the initial years of establishing to set up their venture. He emphasized that it is always beneficial for an entrepreneur to understand the customer's requirements and provide customised solutions to create their own distinct identity and the helps a start-up firm to build its credibility. After the lecture session, participants shared questions during the interaction session moderated by Graison and Karthika.
Prof. Monisha Dhiman, President IIC, expressed her gratitude to the invited speaker and thanked everyone for helping to make this programme a success. Students, research scholars and faculty from various departments of the university, as well as from several other eminent institutions of the country, such as IIT Guwahati, IIM Bodh Gaya, Banaras Hindu University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Central University of South Bihar, apart from many alumni of the university, attended this programme.
