Ludhiana, September 27, 2015: The Aam Aadmi Party is expecting a large turnout at the Chhapar Mela tomorrow where it has set up a stage to address the crowd visiting the Mela. National leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party like Sanjay Singh, Ashutosh, Durgesh Pathak and Delhi MLA Jarnail Singh along with Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann and State Convenor Sucha Singh Chhotepur are expected to address the audience.
According to Col.C.M.Lakhanpal (Retd.), AAP Zonal Coordinator for Ludhiana, “We are expecting a huge crowd at our Pandaal tomorrow. Party volunteers have been going to each village in the nearby areas to create awareness about Aam Aadmi Party’s presence at the Chhapar Mela. Even last year we garnered the most crowd and we expect to repeat the feat this year too as more and more people are getting fed up of the misrule of this corrupt and inefficient Badal Sarkaar. Our Punjab Jodo Jan Sabhas have seen record breaking crowds and it is a clear indicator that people of Punjab are rejecting the traditional political parties and joining Aam Aadmi Party in this new revolution to bring in a prosperous and joyful new Punjab”.
Meanwhile, sources reveal that special security arrangements are being made to deal with overcrowding and congestion at the Chhapar Mela. Political conferences are organized by different political parties during the mela. Besides, devotees visit Guga Mari Mandir during the event. It is learnt that more than 1,500 police personnel are to be deployed to deal with the situation.
Many CCTV cameras are being installed to ensure complete security and safety.
