Chandigarh, January 27, 2025:  In Amritsar, AAP leaders garlanded and offered flowers at the vandalized statue of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution. The AAP leaders expressed regret over the incident of vandalism and said that it is highly condemnable.

Aam Aadmi Party Punjab President Aman Arora, accompanied by Cabinet Ministers Harpal Cheema, Harbhajan Singh ETO, Kuldeep Dhaliwal, and AAP leader Dr. Sunny Ahluwalia, visited the site of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar's statue on Heritage Street to take stock of the situation.

Addressing the media, Aman Arora stated that this is an attempt to disrupt the communal harmony of the state. The Aam Aadmi Party condemns this incident in the strongest terms. He called it a completely deplorable act. Arora added that the Constitution written by Dr. Ambedkar is respected worldwide. Strict action will be taken against all culprits, and no one will be allowed to disturb communal harmony.

Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that stringent action will be taken against all culprits and conspirators, and no one will be spared. He emphasized that Punjab is the land of Gurus and Saints, where seeds of hatred cannot grow. Anyone attempting to do so will fail.

Cheema further stated that Punjab has always given a fitting reply to those trying to spread hatred. He added that the accused has been arrested and the police got his four-day remand. An FIR has also been registered. During the police investigation, whoever is found guilty will be given exemplary punishment so that no one dares to carry out such acts in the future.
