Chandigarh, June 14, 2024: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab strongly condemned the statement of Congress MP from Ferozepur Sher Singh Ghubaya, saying his comments are threats to the people and against our democratic values. In a meeting Ghubaya had said that he knows who has voted for Congress and who has not. He said that he will prioritise those who voted for him and his known workers.

Condemning this statement of Congress MP, Aam Aadmi Party's Anandpur Sahib MP and party's chief spokesperson in Punjab Malvinder Singh Kang said that this statement of Ghubaya is a direct threat to the public. His statement is completely indecent and undemocratic. He should respect the voters.

Kang said that the Constitution of our country gives its citizens the right to choose the candidate of their choice. He said that Sher Singh Ghubaya will soon take the oath of the Constitution in Parliament but it is clear from his statements that he does not respect the Constitution. He has no faith in the basic principles of the Constitution.

He said that Congress has won seven seats in Punjab and their arrogance is already at its peak. Kang demanded an explanation from the Congress party on Ghubaya's statement and said that the Punjab Congress chief should apologize.
AAP spokesperson Neel Garg said that it seems like the Congress MP is not happy with the democratic process, perhaps that is why he is openly threatening the voters, while he is an MP, he should not be discriminating. The public may have voted for anyone but now he is the MP of all the people of his Lok Sabha constituency. Ghubaya should respect the democratic electoral process.
