Academic Council Gives Nods To New Academic Programmes

Talwandi Sabo, May 11, 2017: The 8th Academic Council Meeting of Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo held today, under the chairman Ship of Vice Chancellor Col.Dr.Bhupinder Singh Dhaliwal. The New Academic Council Programmes started in different constituent colleges were discussed at length and approved. Thirty Seven (37) senior educationist and administrators from different institutes/ Universities from across the nation participated in the discussion.
Besides the new courses such as Ph.d (Vegetable Science, Sociology, Religious study) M.A (yoga Therapy, Home Science), Diploma (Agriculture) DOTT operation theather , M.Phil (English, Sociology, Economics), the award of Honoris-causa degrees of doctorate of science to eminent international scientists, who made significant contribution towards their respective fields and there by impacted mankind across the globe, were unanimously approved.
The participated members of the Academic Council appreciated the Academic Programmes of the university adding that it is making a tremendous contribution in developing the knowledge society and scientific literacy in the region.
Earlier the GKU Vice Chancellor Dr. Dhaliwal welcomed the participating members and highlighted that the candid inputs by the members help in designing and running of need based educational programmes of the University.
The GKU Registrar, Dr. Jagtar Singh Dhiman while conducting the proceeding of the meeting gave a presentation on the various new programmes introduced in the University Colleges during the session 2017-18. The members of the Academic Council were honoured with the presentation of GKU momentous.
The Managing Director S. Sukhraj Singh Sidhu said that GKU always gives preference to start need based Academic Programmes & prepare the students to serve the nation and meet the changing needs of the corporate world.
