Achievements of PU's Forensic Science students in 2022
Persisting to its tradition, Institute of Forensic Science and Criminology (IFSC), Panjab University, Chandigarh, has got outstanding placements in 2022.
Chandigarh, January 25, 2023: Persisting to its tradition, Institute of Forensic Science and Criminology (IFSC), Panjab University, Chandigarh, has got outstanding placements in 2022. Also, many students have qualified National level competitive exams like UGC-NET, UGC-NET-JRF, FACT PLUS and FACT by MHA. The Chairperson of the Department Dr. Vishal Sharma informed that in 2022 lot of students have achieved many positions in the prestigious labs and many of them have cleared National level examinations.
Dr. Navdeep Kaur has given overseas recognition to our department as well as to Panjab University by getting selected as Sr.Scientist, Pfizer in New York (USA). Dr. Neha Verma got appointment as Scientist B at Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Chandigarh through UPSC. Dr. Neha, Arpita Angrish, Anjali Tomar, Dr. Tej Kaur have been appointed as Assistant Professors/ Faculty of Forensic Science in various colleges and Universities. Dr. Garima Chikara, Priya Verma, Sonali Manhas and Zerish Firdous have been recruited as Scientists in various National Forensic Science laboratories at New Delhi, Shimla, Assam and Jammu respectively. The students who qualified UGC-NET-JRF include Damini, Shikha, Maanvendra and Nikrita. Ajay, Vandana and Pratibha have qualified test for lecturership (UGC-NET-LS). Nusrat, Taniya, Bharti and Priyanka have qualified Forensic Aptitude and Caliber Test-PLUS (FACT-PLUS) conducted by Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). Other students including Shaurya, Navreet, Shavi, Richa, Ikshika and Anjali have cleared FACT (MHA). So in total, 27 students have taken the department to newer heights by their remarkable achievements this year.
Dr. Vishal Sharma, Chairperson of the department congratulated all the achievers who have won glories to the department and Panjab University, Chandigarh and asked the students to stay connected with your alma mater. Further, he informed that the Department after a span of just 13 years has achieved many accomplishments. Our alumnis are now working as scientist in many Forensic Science laboratories and serving the nation. Many research students and faculty members are doing cutting edge research in the current problems in the area of Forensic Science and its allied disciplines.
