Hyderabad, December 12, 2024: CII Telangana is organizing its flagship event, fourth edition of CII Telangana Packcon 2024 a two-day Summit focused on future-ready packaging on 12 & 13 December at Hyderabad.
 
CII Telangana Packcon 2024 is a key industry event focused on the latest advancements and future trends in packaging and will bring together leading experts, innovators, and stakeholders to discuss and explore solutions that address emerging global market challenges. With a theme centered on "Innovating Today for Tomorrow’s Global Market Challenges- Packaging & Beyond," the Summit offered a platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and highlighting innovative packaging technologies and strategies.
 
CII Telangana Packcon 2024 conference’s Inaugural Session was addressed by prominent industry leaders from manufacturing sector in Telangana.
 
Chief Guest of TG-Packcon 2024  Dr. Jayesh Ranjan, IAS., Special Chief Secretary, Industry & Commerce, IT &EC Department, Government of Telangana said that achieving net zero target is primarily driven by packaging sector. As India has set a target of achieving netzero by 2070 the packaging industry needs drive innovation and incorporate latest technologies. The sector is always ready to accept change and adopt new technologies rapidly. The Government of Telangana can allocate space in the industrial parks and the packaging companies need to collocate with other companies. Every sector requires packaging materials and better integration, and digital innovation can drive the growth in the long run. He encouraged Packaging sector companies to work closely with Young Indian Skills University in curriculum design and content delivery so that trained manpower would be available to the industry.
 
Raja Bhanu, Director General, Pharmexcil said that India’s Pharma sector is cornerstone of the economy and packaging sector plays a key role in ensuring delivery of affordable high-quality medicines. At present the sector is registering about $ 53-54 billion annual turnover and expected to register exponential growth in the near future. 70% of exports are being done to highly regulated markets such as the US and Europe and high quality is the key factor. Product stability depends on innovation, packaging we need to incorporate circular economy aspects also. Usage of Artificial intelligence, machine learning can help in improving the efficiencies and Telangana is poised grow further as a Pharma Hub.
 
Anil Epur, Past Chairman – CII SR said that the packaging industry is driven by the factors such as rising population, increasing income levels, and changing lifestyles are anticipated to drive consumption across various industries leading to higher demand for packaging product solutions.  Through sustainable packaging, manufacturers aim to bring about a circular economy. The goal of the circular economy is to bend the linear “take, make, waste” model into a continuous loop, where packaging materials can be reused or regenerated into new products. This will extend the usefulness of each product, extract maximum value while it’s in use and recover or recycle the product after it has exhausted its service life.
 
Chakravarthi AVPS, Chairman – CII TG PackCon 2024 & Chairman & Managing Director, Ecobliss India spoke on importance of sophistication and durability in packaging solutions. The world is demanding to redesign the packaging solutions and move towards sustainability. The sector needs to use bio degradable materials and recycle materials sector is growing rapidly. There is a need to strengthen authenticity and fight to counterfeit products and packaging sector need to drive the positive change.
