Sony Entertainment Television’s latest offering, 'Jubilee Talkies – Shohrat.Shiddat.Mohabbat,' has been receiving love and appreciation from audiences for its engaging plot. Set against the vibrant backdrop of the Indian film industry, the show follows the journey of Shivangi Sawant (Khushi Dubey), a humble girl from a smalltown in Maharashtra who is determined to restore her family’s pride by reviving her father’s single screen theatre - Sangam Cinema. Her path crosses with that of superstar Ayaan Grover (Abhishek Bajaj) aka AG, who enjoys a fandom like none other, and an unexpected romance flourishes. In a candid conversation, Abhishek Bajaj talks about his character AG, the show, and much more.

Can you tell us something about the show, 'Jubilee Talkies – Shohrat.Shiddat.Mohabbat'?
I have high hopes for this show; when I first heard the narration, it made me feel like everyone would want to watch it, such shows aren't made often. In fact, I tell everyone that we should continue to evolve as storytellers and bring different concepts to television. Defying expectations with its captivating portrayal of love, drama, and intrigue, it puts the spotlight on an unexpected love story of an influential superstar, Ayaan Grover, and a theatre owner, Shivangi Sawant, whose worlds collide in a whirlwind romance.

Why did you choose the character of Ayaan Grover?
So, I’ve always want to play different characters and what excited me is the double role that I get to essay in the show as a megastar as well as his body double. I found it very interesting and both my characters have complex emotions that really excite me as an actor.

How closely do you relate to Ayaan Grover?
His professional life is quite close to mine because I have worked in many films, I have seen that life, so I can relate quite a bit. But his personal life is very complex, his relationships with everyone are very different. With some, he is very authoritative, with others he seeks validation, sometimes he seeks love from someone, and other times he feels lonely, so understanding his personal life is quite challenging.

When the character of Ayaan Grover was referred to you, what was the first question or thought that came to your mind?
"Why should I do this? Should I do this or not?" That was my first question to myself. Then I asked the makers what type of show it is and what it entails, to clear my doubts. I felt this show is very unconventional, the fairy tale like story of a superstar falling for a common girl appealed to me. It transports the viewer to a very dreamy world, with their love story almost seeming impossible. It's commendable that our producer, Saurabh Tewari Sir and Sony Entertainment Television are bringing audiences such a unique show.

Have you followed any superstar or are you trying to be original?
No, I have never followed any superstar or tried to imitate anyone. Whenever I play a character, I try to make it as aesthetic and unique as possible because in that moment, the character becomes very close to me as I live that life.
