ADC and Assistant Commissioner inaugurate Micro Forest Project for Ludhiana
With an aim to enhance the green cover, protect air, water and check the environmental pollution, Additional Deputy Commissioner Major Amit Sareen and Assistant Commissioner Kritika Goyal on Wednesday inaugurated the Micro Forest Project and a nursery in which 5000 saplings to be planted in Malakpur village of district.
Ludhiana, June 5, 2024: With an aim to enhance the green cover, protect air, water and check the environmental pollution, Additional Deputy Commissioner Major Amit Sareen and Assistant Commissioner Kritika Goyal on Wednesday inaugurated the Micro Forest Project and a nursery in which 5000 saplings to be planted in Malakpur village of district.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Major Amit Sareen stated that this move is aimed to make green Ludhiana and 5000 trees of various native species of the state would be planted on the one-acre land. He mentioned that a special technique will be adopted for afforestation to ensure denser growth of plants and hence better carbon-dioxide absorption. He stated that such a mini forest will be in fact a milestone in reducing greenhouse gases and making the environment healthy.
Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner Kritika Goyal also exhorted the people to plant saplings for protecting the environment and giving a better future to the next generations by planting saplings.
Both ADC Major Amit Sareen and Assistant Commissioner Kritika Goyal also planted saplings on the occasion.
