ADCP Ludhiana Rupinder Kaur Sra to be awarded chief minister medal on 75th Independence Day at Amritsar
She is known for her zero-tolerance approach against crime and indiscliplline
Ludhiana: Rupinder Kaur Sra ADCP Ludhiana - the Chief Minister Medal Awardee for the 75th Independence Day for exemplary services during the Covid wave - has been also leading the district police crackdown against the menace of drugs, gambling, sex trade besides solving various murder cases. She has also busted gangs of kidnappers and joined several missing children with their families.
Known for her zero-tolerance approach against crime and indiscipline, Sra has been a diligent enforcer of police and civil regulations in the district ensuring public order and safety. With with the arrest of 14 persons including 10 girls, Sra had busted the interstate sex racket active in Ludhiana. She had also roped in celebrities with Video massages to motivate drug addicts, drug Smugglers to save the youth of Punjab State from the deadly menace. These video messages were also posted on Govt. on Punjab Instagram, Twitter and Face Book pages. The special drive launched by her to arrest Proclaimed Offenders and bail jumpers had successfully apprehended as many as 43 criminals booked in various cases.
In addition to her regular Police duties, Sra has also been paying a pivotal role in state government's efforts to save lives of citizens during the ferocious second COVID wave. For her valuable service to the society, Sra would be awarded with the Chief Minister's medal on the occasion of Independence Day.
Right from leading the fight as a Nodal Officer for crucial Contact Tracing, the Ludhiana Police Officer coordinated and personally monitored the free of cost distribution of Covid care kits to patients, arranged WEBEX Sessions of doctors and psychologists from DMC with all Covid positive police officials, and was instrumental in motivating cured patients to donate plasma.
Sra led the drive admirably and motivated several including 18 recovered police officials from Ludhiana to donate plasma at DMC Hospital, Ludhiana so they can help others fight Covid.
Sra was also the brainchild behind the Ludhiana Police's Project SAWERA to support and empower rape victims by providing with emotional, medical, financial support with team of experts and CII.
Sra has also been contributing in Covid fight with her writings. The article 'Contribution in Research and Publishing of article "Mask Use Pattren, Public Perception and Barriers to Effective Mask Usage- A Battle for from over" was published in Indian Journal of Community Health/Vol 33/Issue No. 02, April-June, 2021. It is first of its kind Joint Research study with team of doctors from DMC on Use of Mask.
