Chandigarh, November 28, 2024: The National Workshop on 'Microplastic and Nanoplastic Pollution (MNP-2024): Analytical Tools for Detection and Remediation Techniques' commenced today at the SAIF/CIL Department, Panjab University, Chandigarh. This workshop is sponsored by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission, UK, under the theme of “Clean Our Ocean.”

The two-day national workshop began in the esteemed presence of Chief Guest, the Vice Chancellor of Amity University, Mohali Prof. R. K. Kohli and the Guest of Honour, PU Registrar Prof. Y. P. Verma. The workshop was officially inaugurated with the release of the book titled “Microplastic in Environment: Source, Potential Risks, Analytical Challenges, and Remediation Strategies”, published by Taylor and Francis CRC Press. This book has been jointly edited by Prof. Ganga Ram Chaudhary, Dr. Moondeep Chauhan, and Dr. Bunty Sharma.

PU Vice Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig congratulated the editors for their work on this crucial topic. More than 50 participants including UG/PG/PhD/Postdoc/Faculty members from 10 institutes across Chandigarh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh are attending the workshop.

Prof. R. K. Kohli and Prof. Y. P. Verma extended their congratulations to organizers for organizing this workshop on such a vital and timely research area. The workshop will feature lectures from distinguished speakers from both academia and industry.
