Admin adopts innovate way to boost polling, stickers on all LPG cylinders for voting on Feb 20

Nawanshahr, February 11, 2022: In another innovate way to spread awareness on importance of voting and boost the polling percentage, the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar administration would paste special stickers on all LPG cylinders in the district to encourage people to vote on February 20, the polling day.
Kick-starting the drive on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Jasbir Singh flagged off three- wheelers containing gas cylinders from administrative complex and said that the special voter awareness campaign has been initiated under SVEEP aimed at making citizens aware of their right to vote.
He said that approximately 60000 gas cylinders are consumed in the district every month and 2000 cylinders are supplied daily. Singh said that this is unique and great method of motivating voters at the grassroots level.
He added that the district administration has been regularly motivating the public to cast votes through various ways including rallies, marathon, installing kiosks besides organizing various competitions, such as poster-making, painting and elocution competitions, at school and college levels to generate awareness among young voters.
He said that voting is an important for stronger democracy and each vote has its own importance and every eligible must vote on polling day.
