Admin adopts innovative ways to boost polling by installing voter awareness stickers on all LPG Cylinders and buses
In another innovative way to spread awareness on the importance of voting and to achieve a minimum 70- percent polling percentage (Iss Baar, 70 Paar), special voter awareness stickers are being pasted on the LPG cylinders and buses in the district to encourage people to vote on the polling day (June 1).
Ludhiana, May 23, 2024: In another innovative way to spread awareness on the importance of voting and to achieve a minimum 70- percent polling percentage (Iss Baar, 70 Paar), special voter awareness stickers are being pasted on the LPG cylinders and buses in the district to encourage people to vote on the polling day (June 1).
District Election Officer (DEO) Sakshi Sawhney said that the special voter awareness drive had been initiated under SVEEP campaign aimed at making citizens aware of their right to vote. She said that this was a unique and great method of motivating voters at the grassroots level. She said that the same stickers had also been pasted in the buses to sensitize the voters.
DEO Sawhney said that the awareness banners had also been installed in all toll-plazas falling under the district to motivate the commuters. She added that the district administration had been regularly motivating the public to cast votes through various ways including rallies, marathons, and installing kiosks besides organizing various competitions, such as poster-making, painting and elocution competitions, at school and college levels to generate awareness among young voters.
The District Election Officer said that voting was important for stronger democracy and each vote had its own importance and every eligible must vote on polling day.
