In a bid to prevent road accidents due to dense fog, the district administration and police will launch a campaign to install reflectors on vehicles in the district.
Ludhiana, December 21, 2022: In a bid to prevent road accidents due to dense fog, the district administration and police will launch a campaign to install reflectors on vehicles in the district.
Presiding over a Road Safety meeting with various departments, Additional Deputy Commissioner Amarjeet Bains said that in foggy days, most of the road accidents occurred due to the lack of reflectors on the vehicles. He said that reflectors on vehicles play a vital role for motorists and commuters to detect the vehicle in the fog. He said that as the fog is likely to continue for the upcoming days, there is a threat of rising road accidents, therefore, by installing reflectors on the vehicles, any untoward incidents could be averted.
Bains also directed concerned officials to ensure all the arrangements made regarding road safety.He also urged to the people that all should exercise caution while travelling and drive vehicles with lights on. He also asked the checking of school buses to ensure Safe school Vahan Policy was implemented in right earnest. He said that the violation of this policy means posing a huge risk to the life and safety of the school children, which could not be allowed at any cost.
