Administration holds workshop on ZED certification
DC Surabhi Malik calls upon industrialists to avail the benefits of scheme
Ludhiana, June 20, 2023: In order to create awareness among the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to achieve zero defect in the manufacturing of products and improve competitiveness, the Ludhiana administration, in association with NGO City Needs, on Tuesday organized a workshop on the ZED certification scheme in local Bachat Bhawan.
More than 100 industrialists from various associations attended the workshop and also took part proactively.
Presiding over the workshop, Deputy Commissioner Surabhi Malik said that Ludhiana was already a leading district in the maximum number of ZED certifications and registrations in Punjab. She divulged the benefits of ZED certification in improving the quality of goods manufactured by the MSMEs that enables them to compete globally. She said that the ZED Model would assist the MSMEs to gradually build their competence and achieve the desired level of excellence in a structural manner.
Malik also termed the workshop will help improve the manufacturing process which will go a long way in achieving the desired quality standards thus enabling the MSMEs to compete in the national and international markets.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the scheme was designed to make the products competitive in the international markets by spreading awareness, evaluation, pricing, consultancy, handholding, review, and certification. She urged the industrialists to avail the scheme's benefits by registering themselves under ZED certification.
Meanwhile, discussions were also held on starting vocational training courses for students in the industries and insurance schemes for labour.
