Administration honours Asian Games Silver Medalist Dhruv Kapila for his feat
District Administration Ludhiana on Friday honored city's badminton player Dhruv Kapila for his achievement in Asian games wherein he has bagged a silver medal in badminton in China. Welcoming Dhruv Kapila here at PAU campus during Khedan Watan Punjab Dian event, Additional Deputy Commissioner Major Amit Sareen said that the Indian badminton team has won its first ever medal in the Asian games and it is a matter of pride for all of us that our young player Dhruv Kapila was part of that team which brought laurels to our country.
Ludhiana, October 13, 2023: District Administration Ludhiana on Friday honored city's badminton player Dhruv Kapila for his achievement in Asian games wherein he has bagged a silver medal in badminton in China. Welcoming Dhruv Kapila here at PAU campus during Khedan Watan Punjab Dian event, Additional Deputy Commissioner Major Amit Sareen said that the Indian badminton team has won its first ever medal in the Asian games and it is a matter of pride for all of us that our young player Dhruv Kapila was part of that team which brought laurels to our country.
The ADC honored Dhruv during a felicitation ceremony wherein he called upon the youngsters to adopt sports as an integral part of their lives which can open up new opportunities for them. He further mentioned that Dhruv's performance at Asian games would always encourage our budding players to achieve such success in their lives. He reiterated that the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann was making concerted efforts to promote sports culture in the state by launching unique initiatives. He mentioned that Khedan Watan Punjab Dian was one of the unique initiatives in this direction. Likewise, several policy level decisions were also taken by the government to further promote sports among youth.
Meanwhile, Silver medal winner Dhruv Kapila thanked the district administration for this honor and said that he will continue chasing his dreams as a sportsman. He also thanked his family and mentors for their support and cooperation during his entire journey.
