Administration receives 4625 entries for 'Future Tycoons' start-up challenge program
In massive response to 'Future Tycoons' start-up challenge program, the district administration has received 4625 entries for five categories. There have been 2809 registrations under the student/young entrepreneurship category (for students aged 10-25), 1339 registrations under the open category (for all Ludhiana residents), 391 under the women category (exclusively for female entrepreneurs), 31 entries under the PwD category (for persons with disabilities), and 55 entries under the sustainable agriculture/food technology category.
Ludhiana, October 7, 2024: In massive response to 'Future Tycoons' start-up challenge program, the district administration has received 4625 entries for five categories. There have been 2809 registrations under the student/young entrepreneurship category (for students aged 10-25), 1339 registrations under the open category (for all Ludhiana residents), 391 under the women category (exclusively for female entrepreneurs), 31 entries under the PwD category (for persons with disabilities), and 55 entries under the sustainable agriculture/food technology category.
Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal presided over a meeting in the district administrative complex with various stakeholders and thanked the participants for the huge response to the program. He mentioned that due to Panchayats elections, the dates for various events of the program have been rescheduled. The scrutiny of the registrations will culminate on October 24, and a Boot Camp will be organized to prepare shortlisted participants on November 5 and 6. The jury round will be held on November 18 and 19, and the grand finale will be held later in the month.
Jorwal added that the cash prizes for winners in each category are as follows: ₹30,000 for first position, ₹20,000 for second, and ₹10,000 for third. An amount of ₹13.10 crore as seed capital/angel investments has already been pledged by key partners, CICU and Ludhiana Angel Network and Innovation Mission Punjab, ensuring that participants have access to essential funding.
The program was launched on August 15 on the occasion of Independence Day and is in association with "Startup Punjab," the Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab government agency for developing the startup ecosystem in the state.
