Ludhiana, February 6, 2025: To provide quality medical treatment to the residents of Ludhiana district at their doorsteps free of charge, the district administration will soon launch two mobile medical vans for their health check-ups.
Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal on Thursday conducted preliminary meeting with officials and representatives from NGOs. He stated that the district administration will purchase these specially designed vans from Red Cross Society funds. Each van will be staffed daily by a specialist doctor and medical interns to perform health check-ups for people at their homes. A detailed duty roster will be prepared for the mobile medical vans.
Jorwal added that the mobile vans will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to provide high-quality medical care. They will be capable of conducting tests such as blood pressure readings, ECGs, HIV tests, and many more, in addition to offering other treatment and diagnostic services. Serious cases will be referred to hospitals for further assessment as needed. The services will target villages in the first phase. Mobile units will offer comprehensive check-ups, especially for women, the elderly, and children, without the need for travel.
The Deputy Commissioner expressed optimism that this innovative program will serve as a catalyst for providing quality health care and diagnostic services directly to the community. He also envisioned that these mobile vans will transform the healthcare landscape by delivering free, high-quality mobile healthcare services, particularly in remote rural areas. This initiative aims to bridge the healthcare gap and ensure that quality medical care is accessible to every corner of Ludhiana.
