Admissions to LPU Distance and Online Education Programmes are open for the October 2024 Session

Jalandhar, October 18, 2024: Admissions to Distance and Online Education Programmes offered by Lovely Professional University are currently open for the October 2024 session. The session, which has been revised to October 2024 from July-August 2024 by the University Grants Commission, is witnessing a surge in admissions for UGC-approved Distance and Online mode programmes of LPU in the disciplines of Management, Computer Applications, Information Technology, Sciences, Commerce, Arts, and Library & Information Sciences. 

Presently, LPU offers MBA, BBA, DBA, MCA, M.Sc. IT, BCA, B.Sc. IT, DCA, M. Com, B. Com, M.A., B.A., MLIS, BLIS and DLIS programmes through Distance Education mode and MBA, MCA, M.Sc., M. Com, M.A., BBA, BCA and B.A. programmes through the Online Education mode. The credibility of these programmes has been boosted by the UGC with their notification dated 2nd September 2022, according to which, the degrees obtained in Distance and Online Education modes from recognised/entitled institutions are considered at par with regular mode degrees for employment and higher education purposes. UGG with their notice dated 19th August 2024, has further introduced a new procedure for students to mandatorily create UGC-DEB ID before enrolling in Distance and Online mode programmes to ensure enrolment only in approved Higher Education Institutions and to enhance transparency in admissions. To facilitate students in this regard, a dedicated team of LPU counsellors is guiding the aspiring students to create their DEB-IDs as per the new procedure.
