‘Aeroplaza Panchkula Golf League, 2025’ From 7th to 23rd April

Panchkula, April   6, 2025: The Panchkula Golf Club will be hosting the inaugural Aeroplaza Panchkula Golf League (APGL) from the 7th – 23rd April 2025. The League is a Team Championship contested by 16 teams of 14 members each. It will be played in 2 stages, namely the Round Robin stage followed by the Knockout stage, each with different scoring systems which will test the players’ skills, strategy and team spirit comprehensively.

 
Aligned to its objectives of promoting the sport, the League has a very inclusive structure which ensures each team comprises a lady golfer, one senior golfer above 70 years of age and players from different handicap categories.
 
Details of the League were shared at a curtain raiser press meet held at the Club’s premises here today and were shared by- VS Kundu, Chairman, Organising Committee of APGL; Col. AS Dhillon (Retired), General Manager, Panchkula Golf Club and Member- Secretary, Organising Committee, APGL; Swadhin Patel, Chief Referee, APGL and Digraj Singh, Tournament Director, APGL. Vishal Dhall, Managing Director, Aeroplaza also participated in the press conference. Notably, Aeroplaza is the title sponsor of the Panchkula Golf League. The teams were also introduced to the media at the press conference and one owner-representative per team was present in ‘tournament attire’ at the curtain raiser event.
 
V S Kundu(IAS), Chairman of the Organising Committee, APGL said, “The Organising Committee has worked hard to get this League off the ground and we are confident that it will serve as a catalyst to enhance the playing standards and camaraderie within the members of Panchkula Golf Club, both of which are important to promote the sport in the club and the tricity.”

Col. AS Dhillon (Retired), General Manager, PGC & Member- Secretary, Organising Committee, APGL said, “A lot of effort has gone into getting the golf course and infrastructure in place for the 3 weeks ahead. The members are excited and we have quality teams in place to execute it as well. Our members are in for a treat.”
 
Digraj Singh, Tournament Director, APGL said, “A unique scoring system has been devised under the guidance of the Organising Committee and additionally, we bring the learnings from the various leagues that we have conducted. The format requires all players to contribute and give their 100 per cent and this is the best form of competition and the true test of team strength and synergy.”
 
Digraj added, “During stage 1 of the league seven (7) days of round robin play will be held, which means each team plays every other in the group. Eight (8) matches are slated to be played each day. The Knockout stage starts with the quarter-finals which will be held on April 18. The quarters will be followed by the semi-finals on April 20, and the grand finale on April 23 at Panchkula Golf Club.”
 
The teams in Group A are - Highland Kings, ADS Falcons, Golfing Panthers, Aces by Vintage Buildtech, Fantastic Fours, Clubs on Flames, Sneakin Golfers, and Victory Waves.
 
In Group B teams include Golfing Eagles, Par-Tee Crashers, Tee Titans, Green Warriors, Raging Bulls, Tee Birds, Shivalik Swingers and Hansa Legends.
