Ferozepur: Expressing happiness and complete satisfaction over the arrangements made by the state government, around 1200 migrant laborers of Utter Pradesh on Thursday evening embarked on their about 818-Kms long journey to Kanpur district of U.P.
Shri Chander, a migrant laborer belonging to Kanpur district after boarding the train said that it was quite appreciating that the state government bore the expenses of their train fares and they were able to move to their native state free of cost. He added that even the food, water, and basic needs were provided by the district administration and they didn’t have to pay a single penny. “I thank to the state government for its concerted effort to facilitate the thousands of migrant laborers desirous to return to their homes.
Another migrant laborer Anoop Singh Chandel also expressed his happiness over the arrangements saying that social distancing and passenger safety were emphasized on the train. He said that the arrangements made by the district administration Ferozepur were beyond the expectation of migrant laborers traveling to their home states.
Shatrughan, another migrant laborer hailed the efforts of the state government adding he said that all the arrangements right from bringing them to Ferozepur district, their health screening, taking them to the railway station, and providing them food, water, and other facilities were appreciable.
Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur Kulwant Singh said that the state government was committed to provide the best possible help to the migrant laborers in these difficult times. He said that all the expenses of this train and other following trains will be borne by the state government to provide succor to the migrants leaving in Punjab
