Agri Varsity Conducts Career Development Programme

Ludhiana, March 30, 2016: Punjab Agricultural University organized a Vocational and Career Development programme for rural school teachers from different parts of the state. About 60 participants attended the programme which was aimed at familiarizing them with PAU’s professional courses so that maximum number of rural school students can take benefit from them. Speaking at the occasion, Dr. P.S. Auluck, Additional Director, Extension briefed the participants about various research, extension and teaching courses being run by the university. He urged them to make full use of PAU’s mission towards educating the rural children and that of producing new varieties for the farmers.

Dr. T.S. Riar, Professor, Extension Education, while coordinating the programme, stressed on the need for strong co operative links between rural and urban students, and the best way he said was through combined educational courses. This would ensure rural empowerment, which is the main aim of the university.

Officers of the university from various departments gave vocational and career related information in the fields of Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Basic Sciences and Humanities, Home Science and Veterinary Science.
