Players in action in the 9th All India Balwant Singh Kapur Hockey Tournament played at Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium, Jalandhar on Wednesday.
Jalandhar, December19, 2012: Govt. Model School Jalandhar entered in the semi finals of 9th All India Balwant Singh Kapur Hockey Tournament at Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium here today by beating Baba Gurmukh Singh Uttam Singh School Khadoor Sahib by 6-2 in Pool 3.
Jalandhar boys displayed good hockey. For winners Shamsher Singh scored in 2nd and 5th minutes, Lovepreet Singh in 12th and 20th minutes and Harmanpreet Singh in 32nd and 35th minutes. For Khadoor Sahib Summetpal Singh scored in 61st and Amanpreet Singh in 63rd minutes.
In the second match, Birsa Munda Vidyapeeth Rourkela beat St, Paul School Mumbai by 9-0. For winners Prakash Barla scored five goals in 4th, 7th, 14th, 41st and 53rd minutes of the play. Sanjit Toppo in 12th, Ashish Kumar in 34th, Nitin Mukesh in 50th and Sudeep in 63rd minutes of the play.
In the third match of the day, Govt. School Chandigarh beat Govt. School Jarkhar (Ludhiana) by 2-0. For the winners Harmeet Singh scored in the 52nd minute and Gurjeet Singh in 58th minute of the play.
