Jalandhar, March 30, 2016: Apeejay Institute of Management Technical Campus organised Industrial Visits for the students of MBA II and MBA IV. The students visited Abrol Engineering Private Ltd, Kapurthala and also Active Tools, Focal Point, Jalandhar. A total of 110 students visited the two companies. Abrol Engineering Pvt Ltd. was founded in the year 1958 and started with manufacture of Motor starters. Gradually the company shifted to manufacture of Low Tension Switchgear, Miniature Circuit Breakers and Distribution Equipments etc. It is an ISO 9001:2008 company certified by DET NORSKE VERITAS vide Certificate No. 04136-2006-AQ-IND-RvA ReIt is an ISO 9001:2008 company certified by DET NORSKE VERITAS vide Certificate No. 04136-2006-AQ-IND-RvA Rev. 01 & meeting all the standards required for electrical equipment & technical capabilities.
The students were acquainted with the various manufacturing phases and also about the functioning of various units of the organisation. The other company Active Tools is a Tier 1 Supplier to most of the major OEM brands in the automotive industry supplying a full range of tire repair inflate and seal systems.
Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director of the institute expressed that such industrial visits visits provide the students a hands-on experience of the functioning of the various departments of a company.
The Industrial visits were a part of the ongoing Entrpreneurship Awareness Camp. The resource person and chief guest for valedectory session was Mr. Opinder Singh, Deputy Director, EEPC India. Worthy Resource Person shared the characteristics essential for entrepreneurship. He then related how enterprising spirit can help enter exports world effectively. He also explained the ways and procedures of carrying out exports , the organisations which are instrumental in providing help and support to exports , incentives for the exporters and the methodology of export documentation. In today’s scenario where ‘Export or Perish’ is the mantra for growth, right type of guidance and training is needed to meet the upcoming challenges. The resource person gave his expertise to the students who aspire for a career in Export-Import Business. It was an interactive session with the students , where the thrust was on various plans and strategies which can be employed for entering International Markets. The valedictory session ended with a vote of thanks.
