AISF burns Punjab Government effigy

An effigy of Punjab Government is being burnt infront of the newly constructed building for Government College for Girls at Jalalabad by the All India Students Federation (AISF).

Jalalabad, July 20, 2013: An effigy of Punjab Government was burnt infront of the newly constructed building for Government College for Girls at Jalalabad by the All India Students Federation (AISF) and shouted anti-government slogans under the leadership of Akash, Member, District Council Jalalabad with participation of Aman Dharmuwala, Sandeep Bagge Ke, Roshan Singh, Boota Singh Hazar, Harjinder Singh, Jaj Singh Falianwala, Balkar Singh Mohnewalal, Lakhwinder Singh and others.

The students said, “The functioning of Government College for Girls in the Deputy CM’s constituency, is being unnecessarily delayed with the result the girl students have to get admission in the private colleges at higher fees.

They alleged that the functioning of college is being delayed with some ulterior motives to give benefit to the private colleges, which will not be tolerated at any cost by the AISF.

The AISF have demanded from the Punjab Government to immediately issue the notification to start the college by making arrangements for the principal and other faculty members.

They warned that in case the college is not started immediately, the Federation will be compelled to intensify their agitation which will continue till the starting of the college.
