Holds review meeting with departments' heads in DAC
Nawanshahr, May 13, 2022: Punjab State Safai Karamchari Commission Chairman Geja Ram Valmiki on Friday directed all government having contractual sanitary workers and private institutions in SBS Nagar district to ensure wages to Safai Sewaks as per DC rates and must deposit their EPF in their accounts.
The Chairman was holding a review meeting in District Administrative complex.
He asked them to ensure that safai sewaks employed whether in government and private must receive the salaries as per fixed DC rates besides the share of their EPF must be deposited instantly into their accounts. He said that all government and private schools, colleges, hospitals, police, ITIs, industries and other organizations to ensure whether the guidelines were being followed strictly there.
He also listened to the Safai Karamcharis during the meeting and ordered the officials to solve their issues on top-priority.
Geja Ram also told the health department to ensure every Safai Sewaks must have receive three doses of Covid vaccine to ensure their safety from deadly disease.
He also asked the social justice, empowerment and minorities and SC corporation to hold awareness camps in every MC's areas so that all safai Sewaks can get benefit of loan and other welfare schemes. Chairman also asked the Safai Sewaks to not to burn the waste as it creates pollution and causes health problems.
He said that all Safai Sewaks are members of his family and the commission stands rock solid with them always. He said that the commission is committed for the welfare of Safai Karamcharis and Sewermen and will leave no stone unturned to ensure this.
